Moosewood Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Do the Moosewood mouthpieces come with their "own" rims, as from other makers?
A: No. They can be bought with any rim you want, thin, wide, flat, rounded.
2. Do some Moosewood models play better on particular makes of horn?
A: Yes. I have designed the Models A, C and D, for instance, to play especially well with Kruspe, Conn 8D, King, Paxman and Reynolds horns. See the Models page.
3. Are ALL Moosewood models available for trial?
A: Certain models are available for a one-week trial, but not all. See the Models page.
4. Can I order a Moosewood in a different bore size than listed in the Models page?
A. Of course. If you order a model in a different bore size, it will be considered a "Custom" mouthpiece. It can be returned for modifications, but not for exchange.
5. I am allergic to silver...brass...metals...what can you do for me?
A: I can make a rim from Delrin, which is very tough, translucent, and will not cause you any grief. This stuff is also very good for playing outside, in cold or hot weather.
6. I have teeth that are irregular. What can you do about a comfortable rim for me?
A: Give me a phone call. I can usually make a rim that will help compensate for cranky teeth or malocclusion.
7. Do you take credit cards?
A: Not at the present, though I can accept PayPal and MoneyGram. This keeps costs down for labor-intensive custom work. I accept personal checks and Money Orders from American customers, and International money drafts or checks paid through American banks. Because I am my own boss, I have sometimes worked out a satisfactory barter, but can't take frozen turkeys or 'possums.
8. Is there really a "Moose" at Moosewood?
A: Yes... Click here for "Thidwick"
